Q

MoA of etanercept

A

Inhibits TNF-alpha by attaching to the TNF-alpha receptors on the T-cell to prevent the circulating TNF-alpha from attaching to the TNF-alpha receptors on the T-cell -> overall inhibiting TNF-alpha

Q

MoA of infliximab (Remicade) and adalimumab

A

Bind to circulating TNF-alpha preventing interaction with membrane-bound TNF receptors on lymphocytes and macrophages

Can also inactivate receptor-bound TNF-alpha
