Broca’s Aphasia
Expressive aphasia- can understand, but can’t communicate. Agrammatic speak.
Wernicke’s aphasia
Receptive aphasia- can hear sounds and words, but can’t understand them. Speech is fluent but has many incorrect word substitutions and neologisms. Great urge to speak.
Global Aphasia
Inability to speek or comprehend- only names and a few words. Repetition, reading, and writing severely impaired.
Dysphonia
difficulty in talking with abnormal pitch or volume due to laryngeal disease. Hoarse voice.
Dysarthria
Distorted articulation. Speech may be unintelligible.
