questionnaires Flashcards
questionnaires
Questionnaires are a list of pre-set questions devised by a sociological researcher that are related to the topic under consideration. The same questions are given to each person in the same order so that the same information can be gathered from each person in the sample.
Labour Force Survey
A systematic random sample of 650 addresses is drawn each quarter from the LPSA list. The sample size is 120,000 people from a cross section of households.
The method used is a quantitative interviewer led questionnaire where the possible answers are pre coded. Questions are asked of every adult member of the household (aged 16 and over), with a few questions relating to each child in the household.
It is representative as it has a large sample which is systematic random so it has a range of people in the target population
