A

This study aimed to enable Chinese older people to influence policy and practice. The first involved group discussions with older Chinese people to formulate a joint statement. They carried out a pilot study which gained the trust of their participants, to relax them and help train them to become active, engaged members of the group discussion - validity and ethics.
it saves resources and may even provide the researchers with opportunities to improve a larger, more scientific, and thus provide valid results and gen/rep

Wanted to see how class structure can be part of the daily process of raising children. Before using a large scale questionnaire she used it on a small sample to check weather the research tool is well designed so that respondents understand the questions - Participants can give feedback which the researcher can assess their experiment and make the necessary changes
