Q

2 specific problems with correlational research and causailty

A
  1. which comes first? (are you violent cause you watch TV or do you watch TV because you are violent)
  2. Third variables

Q

Why do we do correlational studies?

A
  1. practicality (some variables cant be randomly assigned, gender, age, personality)
  2. Some research is conducted with prediction in mind (predicting why certain people do well on the job)
  3. Ethical grounds (you cant randomly assign brain damage)
