Quadriceps Femoris Muscles Flashcards
What is the MA for the Rectus Femoris?
Extension of the knee joint
Steadies the hip joint
Helps the iliopsoas with flexion of the hip joint
What is the PA for the Rectus Femoris?
Anterior inferior iliac spine (AIIS) and ilium
What is the DA for the Rectus Femoris?
Quadriceps tendon to tibial tuberosity via patellar ligament
What is the N of the Rectus Femoris?
Femoral nerve (L2, L3, & L4)
What is the MA for the Vastus Lateralis?
Extension of the knee joint
What is the PA for the Vastus Lateralis?
Greater trochanter and the lateral lip of the linea aspera of the femur
What is the DA for the Vastus Lateralis?
Quadriceps tendon to tibial tuberosity via patellar ligament
Medial and lateral vasti also attach to the tibia and patella via aponeuroses (medial and lateral patellar retinacula)
