Describe the cockpit checks for a ramp A:

A

For the cockpit checks on a Ramp A you must check:
* Parking brake, set (check chocks first)
* If the A/C has been fueled, if not: Open refuel panel & select mode select switch to refuel for 25 seconds. Return to the normal position before the aircraft is powered down.
* If its supposed to freeze, ensure A/C is ditched. Avo Vents + Ditching closed.
* Check for open Technical Log entries
* Ensure the ramp B has enough time left on it for the next day.
* Sign the CRS for Ramp A

What is “shingling”

A

It is the clicking sound when the blades are windmilling. It’s caused by the mid-span shrouds.
Mid-span shrouds prevent twisting of blades and dampen vibrations.

A type of damage to turbine engine blades caused by sudden stoppage of the fan or by an overspeed condition. The midspan shrouds on the fan overlap rather than touch the face-to-face contact.
