Alcare Flashcards
Q What is ALCARE?
The purpose of ALCARE (Aer Lingus Conserve all Rotable Equipment) system is to allow recertification of components which have been removed from an aircraft as part of the troubleshooting process and subsequently re-certify the part if the defect remains.
How is ALCARE Used?
When an engineer replaces a component for troubleshooting the T/S box is ticked when the label booking is performed.
This transfers the unit to EPS in Amos. The engineer labels the part as an ALCARE unit and leaves it on the U/S shelf.
The store man will collect the part and leave it in the ALCARE cage in H6. An engineer with ALCARE approval can review the part and defect at a later stage and make a decision on whether the part is U/S of Serviceable.
If it is U/S the part is sent for repair if it is serviceable a form 1 is issued and the part is returned to stock.
How would you ALCARE a part?
Tick the T/S box when performing label booking and put an ALCARE sticker on the part. The part should be identified as an ALCARE unit on EPS in Amos by the engineer.
How are ALCARE parts treated?
They are treated as serviceable parts until a determination on the status of the part is made.
Where is the ALCARE press?
Hangar 6 K location in stores.
How can you look at what parts are in ALCARE?
EPS module on AMOS.
Who can release a part from ALCARE?
Any engineer can make a part U/S from ALCARE but only an engineer with ALCARE approval can re-certify a part.
