Bloods
HIV
Bone marrow
What investigations would be indicated if there is a new murmur?
Echo
What investigations would be indicated if there are headaches?
Temporal artery biopsy
CT PET
What investigations would be indicated if there is microhaematuria?
Autoantibodies +/- renal biopsy
Renal US
What investigations would be indicated if there is TB contact?
Sputum
Bone marrow

Screen for blood borne viruses
What is the treatment of pyrexia of unknown origin?
Treat cause i it can be found
-TB=chemo
-temporal arteritis= steroids
Some types responsive to NSAIDs
What is the most common outcome of pyrexia in the young?
Spontaneous resolution
