- Identify risk factors associated
- Develop and test interventions to control or prevent the
problem - Monitor interventions to assess their effectiveness
What are the core functions?
ASSESSMENT (Gather, analyze, and communicate information about health), POLICY DEVELOPMENT (Uses all the data that has been collected to make a plan), ASSURANCE (Ensure all health services all available and accessible)
