opium, morphine, heroin & codine
psychedelics/hallucinogens-
loss of contact with reality, alter emotions, false perceptions & thoughts,
depressant-
relaxation, sedative, reduces activity, depletes GABA, glutamate, & dopamine
stimulants-
increase behavior and mental activity, more awake and alert
opiates-
decrease endorphins and dopamine, relieve pain and anxiety, cause euphoria and are highly addictive
