What does pseudostratified columnar epithelium consist of?
Basal cells and columnar cells that rest on the basil lamina. Only columnar cells reach the lumen.
Why is psuedostrstified not 2 layers?
The nuclei of the 2 cells are at different levels, giving the impression that they are layered. They are actually just squished and not 2 layers.
Where do you find pseudostratified columnar epithelium?
Trachea, epididymis
In the traceheal lining, why are there goblet cells and cilia?
Goblet cells to create mucus for trapping unwanted particles. Cilia to push particles upward that shouldn’t go in the trachea.
Why are Stereocilia and sperm found in the epididymis?
Stereocilia to increase surface area; they are NOT motile
S-erm because the epididymis is part of the male reproductive system
What is the tube structure that covers the epididymis?
The connective tissues capsule
