What does pseudostratified columnar epithelium consist of?

A

Basal cells and columnar cells that rest on the basil lamina. Only columnar cells reach the lumen.

Why is psuedostrstified not 2 layers?

A

The nuclei of the 2 cells are at different levels, giving the impression that they are layered. They are actually just squished and not 2 layers.

A

A

Goblet cells to create mucus for trapping unwanted particles. Cilia to push particles upward that shouldn’t go in the trachea.
