What Is Protocols?
simply means an agreed method of doing something.
A ‘network protocol’ is the agreed method of communication to be used within the network.
What Does the acronym “AT IN” stand for?
A = Application T = Transport
I = Internet N = Network Interface
What are the 6 protocols in Application?
HTTP FTP POP IMAP SMTP SNMP
The 2 Protocols In Transport Are?
TCP
UDP
The 2 Internet Protocols Are?
IP
ICMP
The 2 Network Protocols Are?
MAC
ETHERNET
What Is The Application Network?
Provides the user with the services to create messages that can be sent across the internet using a variety of protocols
What Is The Transport Protocol?
Breaks the messages up into packets and labels them to be sent to other computers. SOme protocols check that packets have arrived and resend if necessary.
What Is Internet Protocol
Delivers the messages based on an address that is attached to each packet
What Is Network Interface Protocol?
Provides the physical connection so that packets of data are sent from one network interface to another.
MOST IMPORTANTLY AFTER THIS IT GOES BACK UP THE CHAIN AGAIN IT DOES NOT STOP AT THE HOST!
