- can involve bladder and epididymis, orchitis as well

A
  • Repeated UTI
  • recent instrumentation
  • bladder catheterization (chronic indwelling or clean intermittent)
  • recent prostate bx

A
  • Pt sick: acutely ill with fevers, chills, fatigue, malaise, and myalgias
  • Lots of urinary symptoms

  • Cephalosporin: Ceftazidime, Cefepime, Cefoperazone
  • Monobactams: Aztreonam
  • Carbapemen: imi-, mero-, dori-
  • Aminoglycoside: Genta, Tobra, Ami
  • Polymixins: Colistin
