What are pronouns used for?
Replace noun/phrase so it doesn’t have to be repeated.
What are the direct object pronouns?
Me, te, lo/le/la, nos, os, los/les/las.
How do indirect object pronouns work?
Introduced by ‘to’ by use of a prepositional ‘a’.
What are the indirect object pronouns?
Me, te, le, nos, os, les.
What happens if a direct + indirect object pronoun come together?
Indirect object pronoun goes first.
What happens when 2 pronouns of the 3rd person singular/plural come together? (Lo/la/le/los/las/les)
Le/les becomes se.
Where are pronouns placed?
They go in front of the verb.
What happens when there is an infinitive/gerund/positive command?
Pronoun is attached to the end.
Where are strong personal/disjunctive/emphatic pronouns placed?
After prepositions e.g. por, para, de, en, a.
What are the 2 types of disjunctive pronouns?
Reflexive and non-reflexive.
What are the reflexive disjunctive pronouns?
Mí, ti, sí, nosotros, vosotros, sí.
What are the non-reflexive disjunctive pronouns?
Mí, ti, él/ella/usted, nosotros, vosotros, ellos/ellas/ustedes.
Give some examples of simple prepositions.
A, bajo, con, contra, de, desde, en, entre, hacia, hasta, para, por, según, sin, sobre, tras.
Why might you use reflexive pronouns?
If prepositional object refers back to subject of verb.
Why might you use non-reflexive pronouns?
If prepositional object refers to some person other than subject of verb.
