Project Time Mgmnt Flashcards
Define activities
Process if identifying the specific actions to be performed to produce the project deliverables
Scope Baseline
The printer deliverables, constraints, abs assumptions documented in the project scope baseline abs are considered explicitly while defining deliverables
Activity List
List including all schedule activities require on the project. Activity identifier and a scope of with description for each activity in detail to he sure project team understands the work.
Lead
Acceleration of the successor activity
Lag
A delay in the successor activity
Estimating activity resources
Estimating types and quantities of material, people, equipment, or supplied required to perform each activity
Estimating Activity Durations
Approximating the number if work periods needed to complete individual activities with estimated resources.
Estimated by amount of resources to be applied to complete the activity
Parametric Estimating
Uses statistical relationships between historical data and open variables to calculate an estimate for activity parameters, such as cost, budget and duration
PERT
Program Evaluation and Review Technique
Three pt estimate
Calculated expected activity duration using weighted averages
Optimistic, pessimistic
Reserve Analysis
Contingency reserves account for schedule uncertainty
Contingency should be clearly identifier in schedule documentation
Activity Duration Estimates
Quantitative assessments of the likely number of work periods that will be required to complete an activity
Total Float
Positive difference between early and late dates
Critical Path Method
Calculates theoretical early start and finish dates, and late start and finish dates for all activities without regard for any resource limitations, by performing a forward and backward pass analysts through the schedule network
Critical Chain Method
Scheduled network analysts technique that modifies the project schedule to account for limited resiurces
Resource Leveling
Scheduled network analysts technique applied to a schedule that has a critical path. Used when shared critical resources or critical resources are only available at certain times/limited quantities or to keep usage at a constant level.
Necessary when resources are over allocated
