Project Quality Mgmnt Flashcards
Project Quality Management
Identifying quality requirements and/or standards for the project and product, and documenting how the project will demonstrate compliance.
Cost Benefit Analysis
Cost of improvement vs investment you get from it.
Meeting quality requirements can include less rework, lower cost, higher productivity.
Cost of Quality
All costs incurred over the life of the product by investment in prevented nonconformance to requirements appraising the product or service for conformance in requirements and failing to meet requirements (rework)
Control Charts
Used to determine whether or not a process is stable or has a predictable performance
Track repetitive activities
Benchmarking
Identifying best-in-class and employ features in your own process.
Compares actual or planned project practiced to those of comparable projects to identify best practices
Design of Experiments (DOE)
Identifies variables and change between them to see which has a better outcome.
Statistical Sampling
Choosing part of a population of interest for inspection.
Economics approach. More is better.
Flow charting
A graphical representation of a process showing the relationships among process steps.
Visually, Sverige can see the same picture as opposed to eirds
Quality Management Plan
How the project team will implement the performing organization’s quality policy.
Quality Metrics
Ensures what metrics are and gue we arrive at them
Process Boundries
Describes purpose of processes to their start and end, their inputs/outputs, data required, the owner, and stakeholders.
Process Configuration
A graphic depiction of processes, with interfaces identified, used to facilitate analysis.
Process Metrics
Along with control limits, allows analysts of process efficiency.
Targets For Improved Performance
Guides the process improvement activities
Perform Quality Assurance
Implementing a quality plan
Process of auditing the quality requirements and results from quality control measures to ensure appropriate quality standards and operational definitions are used
Quality Audits
Structured, independent review to determine whether project activities comply with organizational and project policies, processes and procedures
Audit of quality SYSTEM. Example: kick offs, meeting minutes, etc. Did you follow the plan?
Perform Quality Control
Process of monitoring and recording results of executing the quality activities to assess performance and recommend necessary changes
Histogram
Vertical bar chart showing how often a particular variable state occured
Parento Chart
Type of histogram, ordered by frequency of occurrence.
Shows how many defects were generated by type of category of identified cause
Run Chart
Control Chart without displayed limits. Shows history and pattern of variation
Scatter Diagram
Shows the relationship between two variables. Allows quality team to study and identify relationship between changes observed in two variables.
Inspection
Examination of work product to determine whether it conforms to documented standards
