• It is a Procurement Route (along with Traditional, Management Contracting, Construction Management)
• Contractor responsible for design, planning, organisation etc based on ‘Employer Requirements’
• Contractor holds direct relationship with architect and all other designers.
• Used when time is prioritised, when client doesn’t require control over design, when contractor’s expertise is required.

What is role of Employer’s Agent in D&B Contract?

• Act on behalf of client in all matters
• Not impartial but must act fairly
• Creates ‘Employer’s Requirements’
• Negotiates tender
