Procedural II Flashcards
What tolerance does the target N1 have to fall within compared to the Manifest Projected N1?
-0.1% and +0.5%
How does the CA “Copy” the flight plan?
On the NAV page under Secondary FPL
When should the Before Start flow begin?
Release Fuel Onboard, Received PDC
What conditions must be met for a green light to illuminate on the nose wheel?
STEER OFF (EICAS)
Parking brake off
Toe brakes off
AC Ground Power Panel switch in the Disengage position
What would cause a BRK LH FAULT or BRK RH FAULT EICAS message?
For pushback speeds >5knts and the Autobrakes will switch OFF and will need to reset
Can the engine start during the pushback? Static?
Yes, when given the clearance from the push back operator.
Static start, parking needs to be set
Contaminated ramp pushback considerations?
On a contaminated ramp, PIC will not permit pushback without headsets , except when the flight deck to ground audio system is deferred. PIC must establish alternate communication procedures
Taxiing on Engine 1 and 2 single engine taxi hydraulic considerations.
If on engine 1, ACMP 2 will come on with the parking break released.
If on engine 2, Hydraulic Electrical Pump must REMAIN ON
Note: ACMP 1 does not automatically turn on in the event of a single engine taxi on engine 2.
Starting Engine what are we looking for?
Start Timer 10s positive oil pressure 7% N2 IGN A on EICAS 20% N2 fuel flow Light off within 30 seconds after fuel flow N1 Rotation prior to start cutout (50% N2) 50 N2% verify IGN A (B) goes out Engine Stabilization: ITT 3) red mark moves down
When do we abort an engine start?
1) No positive oil pressure within 10s after N2 increase
2) Oil Pressure below limits
3) No N1 rotation prior to 50% N2
4) N1 and or N2 failing o accelerate to stable idle speed (hung start)
5) No light off within 30 seconds of engine start
6) ITT exceeds 815
7) An intermittent electrical pneumatic or start malfunction before starter disengagement
What protections does FADEC provide? In the air?
Hung Start, Hot Start, No Light Off. Memory item is STILL required. No air protection
After an engine automatic abort how many times can we restart as long as there are no EICAS messages?
Twice
If target N1 value is not being attained what can you do?
Reduce FLEX to the OAT or update the T/O performance to the current OAT through ACARS or Dispatch
Where do I find the procedure for starting the engine with a Ground Pneumatic Cart?
QRH…Can only start the right engine, to start left engine do a crossbleed start
Starting the engines with no AC source (Battery Start)? Hydraulic considerations?
QRJ…Start the right engines first and have hydraulics off because hydraulics turns the EPBIT off.
