How many ACPs are there?
- One for the Captain, one for the FO, and one for the Jumpseater
What is the difference between rectangles and circles on the audio control panel (ACP)?
Square is to Talk to one person at a time
Circle is to Listen to as many people as you want
All the lights are colored GREEN
PA Circle allows you to listen to the FAs in the back
How many rectangles along the top row can be illuminated at once?
One
How many circles can be illuminated at once?
As many as you want
What does the MIC button do?
In Auto, when the O2 mask is pulled and activated, the mic will work with the mask
Understand the function and operation of the EMER, RAMP, and CAB buttons.
EMER lights up the flight attendant panel’s red and gives them a triple chime to talk to them
RAMP allows us to talk to the ground crew
CAB allows us to talk to the cabin flight attendant
How many VHF (com) radios does the ERJ have? Canyou use all three for voice?
- Comm 3 is ACARS and can be used for voice.
Can you change the comm frequency with the PFD?
Yes, with the CCD
What does the ID Filter button do?
Eliminates voice on VOR and ADF audio so the identification can be heard. Used for flying an approach with using a separate navaid.
How many minutes of audio does the DFDR record?
Starts recording at power up and stores the last 120 minutes of audio.
What is the primary navigation system and what feeds information to it?
FMS. IRS 1 & 2, GPS 1 & 2, VOR/DME
Purpose of XPDR being on Source Side
XPDR 1 is the default and it sends altitude information from the side toward which the A/P is pointing its source arrow to
MFD Weather Radar Settings?
SECT - Reduces scan from 60 degrees either side of nose to 30 degrees and doubles the sweep rate from 12 to 24/min
STAB OFF - turns off the stabilization with the IRS VAR GAIN - allows the pilot to manually select the gain
TGT - Displays a green TGT and turns amber if a cell is detected beyond the zoom range (limited to 7.5 degrees either side of the nose and 200 miles
RCT - Increases gain as weather is detected in an attempt to see beyond the weather. If it cannot see past the cell it will paint a cyan area on the radar shadow. Shows where the radar is attenuated.
