What is specificity?
The training is specific to the needs of the sport and to improve fitness in the body parts that the sport uses.
What is individual needs?
The training is specific to the needs of the athlete and their weaknesses.
What is progressive overload?
Gradually increase the amount of exercise so that you improve over a period of time.
What is overtraining?
Training more than your body can recover from.
What is reversibility?
When an athlete stops training so they lose their fitness.
What is rest and recovery?
Having time in your fitness programme to allow the body to recover
