The mild climate ensures faster growth rate allowing them to mature earlier
What human factors affect farming in the GDA?
Kildare is also a centre for the bloodstock industry selling race horses for export
The GDA has a large population of over 1 million people
Farmers in the GDA are able to sell their products directly to people in Dublin, and transport costs are kept low
The population of the GDA is wealthier than average with an income 40% higher, this allows them to spend more on food
