-Hairs on outside of larvae can cause intestinal trauma, eye irritation , dermatitis and allergic reactions
Quarantinable and if found dead or alive must discard whole lot must be discarded

Have long beak and snout/ Can be recognized by two yellowish or reddish spots on top of each wing

How do you sample for insects?
randomly and increase sample size as infestations are found
look for skins, dropping, larvae holes
How often should you inspect food storage locations?
monthly unless underway than every 2 weeks
What do you do if you find insects pierside?
separate products and notify the Suppo don’t allow on board
How long do you place items in a freezer to kill insects?
3 days
How do you kill all stages of insects?
two weeks at 0 degrees F.
