Storing fresh chicken
Remove wrapper and giblets
Cover and refrigerate on a clean plate
Use within 3 days
Storing frozen chicken
Store in freezer ASAP (-18)
Never refreeze
Use before expiry date
Preparing chicken for roasting
Remove giblets and wash under cold tap
Dry with kitchen paper
Don’t stuff Poultry as the inside mightn’t reach a high enough temp
Skewer wings and leg bone against body of the bird and weigh
Calculate cooking time
Formula for calculating cooking time
20 mins per 500g + 20 mins
Cook at:
200 degrees
