What do we use to meaure time after death in the short term?
Temperature for the first 12 hours

At what point is rigor mortis noticeable?
5-7 hours after death
When is rigor mortis fully established?
8-12 hours after death
How long before rigor mortis is reversed?
The body returns to its flaccid state 36 hours after death
What factor effects rigor mortis?
Ambient temperature
What happends to the abdominal skin & when?
Abdominal skin turns green 2-3 days after death
Waht is mummificatoin?
Dessication without bacterial involvement (dry essentialy)
What is hypostasis?
Poolin of blood due to gravity in the body
Where is pallor found in corpses?
On areas where pressures been applied
Because no blood could perfuse that tissue
What indicates CO poisining?
Cherry red hypostasis indicates Carbon Monoxide posioning
