Pneumatics Flashcards
APU bleed air enters through the left or right side?
Left
Ground air enters the system through the left or right side of the manifold?
Right
Wing anti-ice air enters the wings by its respective ducting or via a common manifold?
Respective ducting
What two stages are the bleed airs taken from?
5th and 9th
What powers and operates the bleed valves?
DC powered to activate it, but require bleed air pressure to open them. Electrically powered and pneumatically operated.
If high temperature or pressure is detected out of the engines bleed what happens?
The engines bleed valve closes
How is the engine bleed air pre cooled?
From fan air that is routed to the engine bleed pre-cooler and then passes overboard.
Dual Bleed, what does it mean?
Possibility of bleed back pressure on the APU bleed valve
What causes a Bleed trip off?
Over temperature or pressure inside the bleed duct. The sensor closes the bleed valve and activates the light.
What does the right wing body overheat light mean?
A duct leak in either the RIGHT engine strut, wing leading edge or air conditioning bay.
What does a Left wing body overheat light mean?
A duct leak in the LEFT engine strut, wing leading edge or air conditioning bay.
It also could indicate a duct leak in the keel beam or APU bleed duct
What powers the APU bleed switch
28VDC from the battery bus
