Roots
Attached to the ground, giving it water.
Taproot
A straight vertical root forming the center which rootlets spring.
Fibrous root
A root that spreads in teh ground like hair.
Root hair
Tiny little hairs on the roots.
Stem
Supports the plant and helps it grow.
Leaves
Collect sunlight and helps support the stem.
Flowers
The part of teh plant that blossoms.
Fruits
The sweet and fleshy product with seeds.
Seeds
A flowering plants unit of reproduction.
Soil
The upper layer of the earth in which plants grow.
Organic matter
Any carbon-based compound found in nature.
Fertilizer
A chemical or natural substance added to soil to increase its fertility.
Diffusion
The movement of particles from high concentration to low concentration. Can diffuse anything solid, liquid or gas. AN EQUAL AMOUNT OF PARTICLES IN THE SPACE.
Concentration
The amount of something.
Osmosis
The diffusion of water through a semipermeable membrane.
Semipermeable membrane
Something that allows only one thing in particular through.
Xylem
Moves water up the plant, from the roots, from the soil to the rest of the plant.
Phloem
Moves the food from the leaves, to the roots and the rest of the plant.
