what is stage 1?
pollen is the plant equivalent of human sperm.
what is stage 2?
pollen grains land on a ripe stigma during pollination
what is stage 3?
the pollen tube grows out of a pollen grain, down through the style and into the ovary
what is stage 4?
the nucleus from a male sex cell inside the pollen grain moves down the pollen tube
what is stage 5?
the males nucleus fuses (joins) with the nucleus of a female egg cell inside an ovule, this is called fertilisation
