it divides and once it is a ball of cells it is called an embryo
how many stages are their to develop a baby?

what happens after 1 month?
the embryo is 6mm long and has a brain, eyes, heart, ears and legs
what happens after 9 weeks?
the body is about 25mm long and is completely formed - its now called a fetus
what happens after 3 months?
the fetus is 54mm long and looks much like a baby
what happens after 5 months?
its now about 160mm long. it kicks and its pesky finger nails can be felt
what happens after 7 months?
the fetus is 370mm long and is viable. this means it would have a fair chance of surviving if it were born at this stage
what happens after 38 weeks?
the baby is about 520mm long. its fully developed and ready to be born
what is attached to the uterus?
