Pictures with lesions Flashcards
Which lesion is seen?
What is it mainly caused by?
Pododermatitis
Caused by wet litter, due to diarrhoea
Which lesion is seen?
Which disease caused this?
Necrotic enteritis
Enteric disease - Intestinal disease
What is seen?
Infectious bronchitis
We see thick mucous when we open the trachea, and also hyperaemia of the mucous membrane.
What is seen?
Infectious bronchitis
Oedema around the head and neck region, dilated blood-vessles, different inflammatory cells infiltrating the trachea and bronchi
What is seen?
Mycoplasmosis by M. gallisepticum
Serous-fibrinous para hepatitis, the liver is covered in thick pseudomembrane. Cannot see heart because pericardium is thickend = sero-fibrinous pericarditis
What type of lesion is seen?
What can cause this type of lesion?
Airsacculitis
Mycoplasmosis, Colicobacillosis, Ornithobacteriosis
What type of lesion is seen?
What cause this type of lesion?
Swollen joint
Mycoplasmosis (M. synoviae)
What type of lesion is seen?
Conjunctivitis
Mycoplasmosis, Colibacillosis, infectious coryza
What is seen?
Omphalitis
Inflammation of the navel
Type of Colibacillosis
What is seen?
Swollen head syndrome
Type of colibacillosis or a secondary type infection of aMPV
Salpingitis
Inflammation of the fallopian tubes, caused by bacterial infection.
Form of colibacillosis
Splenomegali
Enlargement of the spleen
Due to colisepticaemia
Pericarditis
Due to colisepticaemia
Perihepatitis
Due to colisepticaemia
Catarrhal rhinitis
Seen as mucousy content in the airways
Ornitobacteriosis
Serous arisacculitis
Seen as foamy content in the airsacs
Ornithobacteriosis
Breast blisters
Sternal bursitis = non-infectious disease
Caused by repeated injuries to the breast area or it can be caused by mycoplasma synoviae
Deep pectoral myopathy
A non-infectious disease
Caused by increased wingflapping (due to rough handling) or inadequate vasculature of the muscle
Deep pectoral myopathy
A non-infectious disease
Caused by increased wingflapping (due to rough handling) or inadequate vasculature of the muscle
Ascites
= Abnormal fluid in the abdominal cavity
Caused by pulmonary hypertension due to rapid growth and a higher oxygen demand
Tuberculosis
Can see foci of all sizes, can also see foci in the bone marrow
Coligranulomatosis (a colibacilosis form)
Can see small sized focis and its NOT found in the bone marrow (compared to tuberculosis, where the foci are larger and it is found in the bone marrow)
Fatty liver–hemorrhagic syndrome
Can see a fragile and degenerated liver.
Can sometimes see a ruptured liver and therefore bleeding into the body cavity
