What is the difference btwn interdisciplinary and multi-disciplinary?
Multi is when ppl form diff professions are working on different things. interdisciplinary is when ppl from diverse professions are collaborating on a common goal.
What are the 6 key competencies of collaborative care?
- person centered care 2. role clarification (knowing what your job is) 3. team functioning (team setting) 4. colloborative leadership 5. interprofessional communication 6. interprofessional conflict resolution.
International classification of functioning and disability and health aspects?
body fxn - physiological fxn of system. body structure - anatomical aprt of body. impairment - problem with body fxn or structure. activity limitation - cant do adls, so hard to execute tasks. participation restriction - difficulty with involvement. environment factors - physical, social factors.
How are ppl affected by strokes?
can do less ADLs, so limits activities. have participation restrictions bc they cant become involved in society. impairments assoc are speech, mobility, etc.
What are the domains of stroke assessment?
- cognition - understanding and communicating. 2. mobility - ability to move 3. self care - personal hygiene 4. getting along - interacting with others 5. life activities - domestic responsibilties, leisure, work, school 6. participation - joining in community
What is the focus of PTs?
mvmt dysfxn and impariment. focus on mobility; walking, getting out and into bed, etc, certain gross motor skills like bending and reaching.
What is the focus of OTs?
occupational activities like writing, opening things, etc. so ADL, being able to participate in everyday life.
What does a speech language pathologist do?
focus on impairments of speech, communication, and swallowing. Aphasia is common which is when ppl cant make body produce sounds.
How do these three HCPs collaborate?
dual-tasking during therapy. so doing standing and speech at same time etc.
