Allow people to move through the world with control and efficiency
Gait Training
Type of PT that helps people improve their walking ability
Orthotic Device
Medical devices that are worn outside of the body to improve function, support or protect a body part
Pediatric Physical Therapy
Helps children improve their motor skills, coordination, balance, strength and endurance
Physical Accessibility
The design and layout of spaces, products and services to ensure that people of all abilities can use them
Physical Disability
Long-term limitation on a person’s physical functioning, mobility, dexterity or stamina that impacts their ability to perform daily activities
Physical Therapy Intervention
Skilled interaction between PT and patient to improve condition
Postural control
The ability to maintain balance and orientation while sitting, standing, moving or reacting
Range of Motion
The extent to which a joint can move through its full spectrum of movement
Sensory - Motor Integration
The process by which the brain processes sensory information and turns it into motor activity
