  • non-rhotic - ‘R’s that follow vowels is not pronounced
  • yod dropping - australians do not drop their yods - ‘tune’ is tchune not toon, ‘news’ is nyuz not nooz
  • tend to flap intervocalic sounds t - d “thirty” - “thirdy”
  • glottalise - some australians pronounce a ‘t’ as a glottal stop - ‘butler’ ‘fatten’
    *high rising terminal, makes sentences that arent questions sound like questions
