decreased albuminuria and TGF-beta1. also, decreased BP and better endpoint
Do RAAS inhibitors cause cancer?
No. In fact, they may actually reduce basal and squamous cell carcinomas
What has been proven to significantly decrease mortality in pts with LVSD? Side effects?
spironolactone. gynecomastia. Eplerenone doesnt cause gynecomastia
Compare use of torsemide and furosemide. Side effects?
oral furosemide is erratic. Torsemide is better. Either is fine IV. Furosemide causes wasting of water soluble vitamins like thiamine causing beriberi
when should you give vanc in a dialysis pt? Why?
right after dialysis.You get re equilibration from the slowly equilibrating compartment
