Heading Indicator
Altitude Tape
Attitude Indicator
FMAs
When will the Beta Target turn blue
When the engine EPR output differs by .25
When does the FD command bars appear on the PFD during takeoff?
When either: SRS is selected (thrust levers moved to the FLX TOGA position). Or gear struts extend after takeoff.
Flight director command bar limits:
Bars bias out of sight when:
Bank angle exceeds 45 degrees
Pitch exceeds +25 or -13 degrees
Touchdown in the rollout mode
Flight director bars “FLASH” when:
A REVERSION occurs
Loss of LOC or G/S signal in LAND mode
On the speed tape, the YELLOW “=“ Vmo/ MMO Overspeed protection symbol. What will happen as speed approaches or exceeds this indicator:
Autopilot will disconnect
Nose will begin to pitch up
Vmax: Indicated by Red Bricks on Speed Tape. What is Vmax speed? Will the Vmax indicator change?
Vmax is 350 knots when in “Normal Law”
Vmax changes with configuration ie gear and/or flaps
Vfe Next speed: Amber “=“ Max speed for selecting next greater flap setting. When will it be displayed?
Only displays below 15,000 or 20,000 feet
What does the tip of the speed trend arrow represent?
Where the aircraft speed WILL be in 10 seconds
When does ECON SPEED RANGE brackets appear?
Appears when:
In descent phase
Speed is Managed
DES FMA annunciation
Represents +/-20 knots spread to minimize thrust variations
GREEN DOT SPEED. Indicated by a green donut when the flap handle is in “0” What does GREEN DOT SPEED represent or give?
Best Lift/ Drag speed
Best angle of climb
Max endurance
Single engine drift down
Single engine climb out
Holding speed
Minimum Slat Retraction Speed. Represented by a green “S” What does this speed represent?
Displays when flap handle is position 1
Minimum speed for retraction from flap position 1 to position 0
When is Target AIRSPEED POINTER represented in “ Blue”?
When target speed is “SELECTED”
When is the TARGET AIRSPEED POINTER represented in “Magenta”?
When the airspeed is “Managed”
Green “F” Minimum Flap Retraction Speed. What does this represent?
Displayed when flap handle is position 2 or 3.
F is the minimum speed to retract flaps from position 2 or three to position 1
Vls Lowest selectable Speed. Represented by the top of the yellow box at bottom of speed tape. What does this speed indicate?
The minimum speed that provides an adequate margins above stall. Slowest speed that auto flight will fly
