SYMPTOMS:
Two or more: Cognition, affectivity, interpersonal functioning, impulse control.

Begins in adolescence or early adulthood. Stable and long-lasting.
General Personality Disorder
A pervasive distrust and suspicion of others’ motives as malevolent.
Paranoid Personality Disorder
A pattern of detachment from social relationships and restricted emotional expression.
Schizoid Personality Disorder
Social and interpersonal deficits with cognitive/perceptual distortions and eccentric behavior.
Schizotypal Personality Disorder
SYMPTOMS:
Suspicious without basis, doubts loyalty, reluctant to confide, bears grudges, reads hidden meanings, quick to react angrily.

Onset by early adulthood, stable, long-lasting.
Paranoid Personality Disorder
SYMPTOMS:
Dislikes close relationships, prefers solitary activities, no interest in sexual experiences, emotionally cold.

Onset by early adulthood, chronic course.
Schizoid Personality Disorder
SYMPTOMS:
Odd beliefs, magical thinking, unusual perceptions, odd speech, paranoid ideation, eccentric appearance.

Schizotypal Personality Disorder
A pattern of disregard for the rights of others, often involving criminal behavior.
Antisocial Personality Disorder
Instability in interpersonal relationships, self-image, and affects with marked impulsivity.

Excessive emotionality and attention-seeking behavior.
Histrionic Personality Disorder
A pattern of grandiosity, need for admiration, and lack of empathy.
Narcissistic Personality Disorder
SYMPTOMS:
Failure to conform to social norms, deceitfulness, impulsivity, aggression, irresponsibility, lack of remorse.

Onset by age 15, persistent into adulthood.
Antisocial Personality Disorder
SYMPTOMS:
Fear of abandonment, unstable relationships, impulsivity, recurrent suicidal/self-harming behavior, intense mood swings.

Onset in early adulthood, chronic but fluctuating.
Borderline Personality Disorder
SYMPTOMS:
Seeks to be the center of attention, sexually provocative behavior, shallow emotions, self-dramatization.

Onset by early adulthood, lifelong pattern.
Histrionic Personality Disorder
SYMPTOMS:
Grandiosity, preoccupation with success/power/beauty, entitlement, lack of empathy, exploitative behavior.

Onset by early adulthood, tends to last throughout life.
Narcissistic Personality Disorder
A pattern of social inhibition, feelings of inadequacy, and hypersensitivity to negative evaluation.
Avoidant Personality Disorder
An excessive need to be taken care of, leading to submissive and clinging behavior.
Dependent Personality Disorder
A preoccupation with orderliness, perfectionism, and control.
Obsessive-Compulsive Personality Disorder

Avoids social interaction due to fear of rejection, self-doubt, feels inadequate.
