Oppositional Defiant Disorder
Recurrent, impulsive aggressive outbursts grossly out of proportion to stressor.
Intermittent Explosive Disorder (IED)
Repetitive pattern violating rights of others and age-appropriate norms.
Conduct Disorder (CD)
Deliberate, repeated fire setting driven by tension and fascination with fire.
Pyromania
Recurrent urge to steal unneeded items due to inner tension.
Kleptomania
SYMPTOMS:
Angry/Irritable Mood: loses temper, easily annoyed, resentful
Argumentative/Defiant: argues, defies rules, annoys, blames
Vindictiveness: spiteful/vindictive ≥2x in 6 months
COURSE/DURATION/ONSET:
≥6 months
Onset typically in preschool years
Must occur with non-siblings

SYMPTOMS:
Aggression: bullying, cruelty, weapon use
Destruction: fire setting, property damage
Deceit/Theft: breaking in, lying, stealing<br🚫 Rule Violations: truancy, running away, staying out
COURSE/DURATION/ONSET:
≥3 symptoms in past 12 months, ≥1 in past 6 months
Onset: childhood (<10), adolescent (≥10), or unspecified
May continue into adulthood (risk of ASPD)
Conduct Disorder (CD)
SYMPTOMS:
Fire setting on multiple occasions
Tension before the act
Pleasure or relief during/after
Fascination with fire and its context
COURSE/DURATION/ONSET:
Recurrent behavior
Not for gain, revenge, or due to hallucination or impaired judgment
Not explained by CD, mania, or ASPD
Pyromania
SYMPTOMS:
Stealing items not needed
Tension before theft
Relief or pleasure during/after
Not due to anger, delusion, or gain
COURSE/DURATION/ONSET:
Recurrent, chronic or episodic
Not better explained by CD, mania, or ASPD
May cause guilt or distress afterward
