Q

Discuss the suggestion that personality questionnaires can be an effective predictor of performance

A
  • Personality questionnaires such as the need to achieve or the need to avoid failure personality questionnaire can be useful as often certain personalities are associated with certain sports
  • However, there is no clear evidence that personality has a link with type of sport or success
  • Also performers are able to lie in these tests so may be unreliable
