What is the social learning theory of personality?

A

BEHAVIOUR = FUNCTION OF ENVIRONMENT
- Personality is constantly changing as a result of experiences
- Shaped by what we have observed Modelling = occurs when you try to emulate the behaviour of an athlete you can relate to
Reinforcement = if a behaviour is reinforced than it is likely to be repeated

What is the interactional view of personality?

A

BEHAVIOUR = FUNCTION OF PERSONALITY AND ENVIRONMENT
- consider how the situation and personality traits link and work together
- situational factors are strong = situation is more likely to predict a persons behaviour
- situational factors are weak = traits are more likely to predict a persons behaviour
