Squamous cell carcinoma - it is a skin cancer

V rare (only about 400 cases in UK each year)
Is penile cancer painful?
No - hard painless lump
What investiagations are done?
MRI to assess tumour depth
CT only in advanced disease
How is cancer managed?
Circumcision
In advanced disease
- total penile amputation with formation of perineal urethrostomy
What is the name of the skin condition you can see on the penis?
BXO - balanitis xerotic obliterans
Who is BXO common in?
How does it present?
Youngish uncircumcised males
Poor personal hygiene link
Phimosis - tight foreskin
Paraphimosis - unable to retract foreskin back
Erythema
What virus is penile cancer associated with?
HPV
