Ethics:
What four actions can be instigated by the head of regulation?
- Serve a fixed penalty notice
- Make a regulatory compliance order
- Refer the matter to a single member of the regulatory tribunal for consideration
- Refer the matter directly to the disciplinary panel
What are the three levels of disciplinary action?
- Action by head of regulation

Social media
The RICS will investigate social media including behaviour that is:
Abusive, Discriminatory, Dishonest, bullying or ignoring previous warnings about concerns
They will not investigate:
Criticism of an organisation, posts using professional and respectful language or when the post is removed when requested.
Bribery
Policed by the serious fraud office, the maximum penalty is 10 years imprisonment and/or an unlimited fine.
Failure to comply with Anti-money Laundering regulations
Maximum 14 years in prison and or unlimited fine for assisting with money laundering
Maximum 5 years in prison and or unlimited fine for tipping off someone under suspicion of money laundering.
Data Protection
Up to 4% of global turnover or £17.5 million, whichever the greater (policed by the ICO - Information Commissioners Office)
