Respiratory Illnesses:

  1. Asthma
  2. Croup
  3. Epiglottitis
  4. Seizures
  5. SIDS (sudden infant death syndrome)

  1. Asthma - caused by a spasm or constriction and inflammation in the smaller airways in the lungs.
  2. Croup - an infection of the upper airway that occurs mainly in children between 6 months and 6 years old (horse, whooping cough)
  3. Epiglottitis - severe inflammation of the epiglottitis (children 3-6 yrs)
  4. Seizures - Can result from a high fever or from disorders such as Epilepsy
  5. SIDS - between the ages of 3 weeks and 7 month —> crib death, unexpected
