  • Angina pectoris - temporary attack on the heart—> exertion (pain on exertion)
  • Heart attack - permanent attack on the heart for a person at rest
  • Cardiac arrest - complete cessation (stop) of the heartbeat
  • Congestive Heart Failure - failure of the heart to pump adequately

Massachusetts Stroke Scale

A
  1. Facial Droop - Have patient show teeth and smile
  2. Arm Drift - The patient closes their eyes and extends both arms straight out for 10 seconds.
  3. Speech - Have the patient repeat “The sky is blue in Boston”
  4. Eye Deviation - Absent, Partial, Forced deviation
  5. Denial / Neglect - Absent, does not recognize their hands
