Four different medical conditions affecting the heart:
A
- Angina pectoris - temporary attack on the heart—> exertion (pain on exertion)
- Heart attack - permanent attack on the heart for a person at rest
- Cardiac arrest - complete cessation (stop) of the heartbeat
- Congestive Heart Failure - failure of the heart to pump adequately

Massachusetts Stroke Scale
A
- Facial Droop - Have patient show teeth and smile
- Arm Drift - The patient closes their eyes and extends both arms straight out for 10 seconds.
- Speech - Have the patient repeat “The sky is blue in Boston”
- Eye Deviation - Absent, Partial, Forced deviation
- Denial / Neglect - Absent, does not recognize their hands

Diabetes
A
caused by the body’s inability to process and use glucose
- If the body does not produce enough insulin, the cells become “starved” for sugar and diabetes results
