What does ‘innate’ mean, and give an example?
Inherited, e.g. Hand eye coordination
What is an open skill, and give an example?
A skill that is affected by the environment, e.g. A rugby pass
What is a closed skill, and give an example?
A skill that is not affected by the environment, e.g. A gymnastics vault
What does ‘discrete’ mean, and give an example?
Definite beginning or end, e.g. Hitting a ball in cricket
What does ‘continuous’ mean, and give an example?
A constant change, e.g. Running, swimming
What is a serial skill, and give an example?
Something with a start and ends, but it repeats again and again, e.g. Tennis serve
What is low organisation?
Break down into sub-routines to teach
What is high organisation?
Can’t be broken into sub-routines easily
What are the 3 stages of learning?
Cognitive
Associative
Autonomous
