Q

How can immunochemistry help with diagnosing the type of lung cancer?

A

DONT NEED TO MEMORISE
Immunochemistry detect specific chemicals found in the sample eg
- TTF 1 found in adenocarcinoma
- Nuclear antigen P63 found in SCLC

16
Q

How does peripheral adenocarcinoma spread?

A

Spread of neoplastic cells along bronchioalveolar wall.

17
Q

What is the TNM system?

A

T- tumour size (1-4)
N- nearby lymph Nodes affected or not (1-4)
M-metastasised to distant parts of the body.

18
Q

What is a carcinoid tumour?

A

Low grade neuroendocrine neoplasm
