A

• Fasciola hepatica (liver fluke) (young flukes damage liverget severe headache, backache, chills and fever. Adult flukes cause atrophy of portal vessels, hemorrhage and secondary pathological conditions that may be lethal)

  • Ancylostoma caninum (probably to treat cutaneous larva migrans)
  • Toxocara canis (probably to treat ocular and visceral larva migrans)
  • Neurocysticercosis caused by taenia solium
  • Echinococcus granulosus and multilocularis (use albendazole for complicated cysts. Wait and watch for cysts without protoscolioses (not dangerous). Third option for treatment is PAIR (puncture, aspiration, injection, re-aspiration))
