Why was the pharaoh one off the most important man in Egypt ?
He was seen as a living god.
What was the pharaoh most important task?
He had to look after the irrigation systems and that the Nile will flood.
What does the pharaoh needs to do to make sure the Nile floods?
Talk to gods and make offerings at temples.
What does the pharaoh also needs to protect?
His subjects
What would the pharaoh do if there was a war.
He would lead the army and defeat the enemies

The pharaoh
What was the second layer of the social pyramid? And what is there function?
The priests, they were able to talk with the gods and they looked after the temples.
What was in the third layer of the social pyramid? And what was there function?
High civil servants, they worked for the pharaoh as generals, architects, counsellors or treasure keepers.
What was in the fourth layer of the social pyramid and what was there function?
Low civil servants and merchants and craftsmen, they could write scribe and the pharaoh used them to write laws. And to keep track of the taxes Egypt needs to pay.
What was the fifth layer of the social pyramid?
Farmers, they produced food.
What is the last layer of the social pyramid?
Slaves, they fought in wars and worked for the Egyptians.
