Cultivation of forests / swamps. They made more areas suitable for agriculture by cutting down forests, removing tree roots so more food could be produced

Introduction of the yoke, better use of pulling power of horses & oxes, loosen up the earth, sowing goes better means a higher food production

Using an iron plough, heavier than wood so ploughs deeper, more draught animals needed, farmers share plough + draught animal= more farmers benefit

From the two field system to the three field system, change in the Washington which the arable land was divided and the different crops were cultivated, larger yield= more food, people were better able to withstand crop failures: two harvest moments each year meant a better chance of producing food
