What does Par-Q stand for?
Physical activity readiness questionaire
What’s the Par-Q designed for?
To identify the small amount of people to whom physical activity isn’t appropriate
Why do we perform warm up?

What are the 3 phases of a warm up?
Cardiovascular
stretching
sport specific
What are static and dynamic stretches?
Static :on the spot without training
Dynamic: using movements specific to a sport
how long should a cool down last?
5-10 minutes
What’s adaptation?
When your body reacts to its environment (e.g. hard training sessions) by increasing its ability to cope. This only happens when you rest.
What is the recovery period?
The period of time allocated to recovery
What is overtraining?
Training beyond your body’s ability to recover
What’s reversibility?
Gradually losing fitness instead of progressing or remaining at the current level
