- Cost of living is too high.
- Weddings are expensive.
- High expectations.
- Decline in stigma of sex outside marriage.
Main changes in childbearing since the 1960s:
- Women are waiting until later in life to have children.
- More women have no children.
- Half of babies are born outside of marriage.
